Filesystem Read/Write Support in FreeBSD? / Share files Linux btw FreeBSD
I recently built a new computer and would like to try setting it up to quad boot a couple linux distros as well as FreeBSD, what I'd really like to do is have a partition for each OS, and then one extra partition for home that's shared between each OS.
So I've been trying to find out what non-native file systems FreeBSD supports read/write functionality with.
So far, all I can find is documentation on how to set up ZFS, which might work because I think I can use it on linux if I load it via FUSE. This still seems, though, like it's semi-experimental on both linux and freebsd, so I have some reservations.
What I've found so far seems to indicate that FreeBSD can read/write to Ext2 but can't handle journalling, and can read reiserfs, jfs, and xfs, but not write them. But these are mostly old posts and mailing list questions, so I was hoping maybe the situation would be better by know.
(Note: on the other side of things, I'm pretty sure Linux has experimental write support for UFS2, but I suspect it's not at all mature)
Thanks in advance for your replies!
