DragonFly BSD 1.0


I know almost nothing about BSD... But i havent seen much talk of this distro

dragonflybsd.org/main/

Version 1 has recently been released.

I downloaded the image, made a partition and installed DragonFly. Straightforward install. Went for all manual config because the config tool locked up on network config...because...I had to turn off BIOS PNP for Dragonfly to recognize my Realtek 8139 NIC, but that was a hint in the documentation I think. I got the hint somewhere. Has to do with ACPI (auto config power interface) which is loaded in the kernel. Once up and running I played around with it a little. Used the FreeBSD ports tree because the DragonFly dfports tree has slim pickins and the default URI would not resolve. Could not tell any difference from FreeBSD, but have not played around with it since install...
