BSD on external USB SATA

Hello, I would like to install FreeBSD.
At the moment I have Debian, Slackware, FedoraCore and xp on my laptop and I do not have enough space for another system.
However, I would like to try BSD, I have got a lot of space
on my external usb SATA hard drive. Is it possible to install it
there?
Debian's boot loader is managing the boot system selection.
I would like it to remain as it is, I'd just modify Debian's grub.conf file.

Is it possible?
Thanks

Thanks Fredstar,
However, I've come to the conclusion that I don't need so many operating systems so I removed FedoraCore. I still have problems installing FreeBSD, but I guess that's a separate thread
