[SOLVED] Unable to start kde4 in FreeBSD 9

Hello all,

I'm having an issue while trying to start exec

Code:

/usr/local/kde4/bin/startkde

I'm getting the following error:

Code:

unable to autolaunch a dbus-daemon without a $DISPLAY for X11

I have configure X according to the handbook, even when I issue the command startx I get a WM, I believe the problem has something to do with kde or dbus.

I have included the following in /etc/rc.conf

Code:

hald_enable="YES" 
dbus_enable="YES"

Any help is appreciated, have a nice day everyone.

Just running startkde doesn't start the X server. Create an ~/.xinitrc file with the startkde command and use 'startx'.

Thank you, that did the trick, I guess I need to pay more attention to the documentation
