The Konsole Terminal and FreeBSD

Problem: When I hit the delete key inside the Konsole, Gnome, and XTerm Terminals, I get the "~" tilde sign... The actual "delete key" process is performed by a Ctrl-D combo.

I recall that in Linux i used to work around the problem by using " stty erase <del key> " but unfortunately this does not seem to work for me...

Any suggestions?

Thanks, ganninu.

What is your default login shell? You might want to change it to bash, that'll fix this problem.
