Startup problems?

I've had PC-BSD 1.2 for about a week or so and it seems that each time upon rebooting that I lose so settings, forinstance my DHCP will have to be reconfigured or my printer no longer works and I have to reconfigure it. Is this a bug? or do I need to do something special?
BTW I can't seem to get DHCP going again. Need some advice. Thanks. fvs

Okay, this could be any of a number of things. I suspect that /etc/rc.conf isn't configured correctly. But I am not familiar with the PCBSD manner of doing things. How are you configuring your network -- what tool is it using? And how do you configure your printer -- same question, what tool?
