Question on starting program at boot
Hi all folks,
To start Chinese input function on OpenOffice Writer, following command lines have to be executed on the same Console/xterm window;
$ export XMODIFIERS=@im=xcin
$ export LC_CTYPE=zh_TW.Big5
$ /usr/X11R6/bin/xcin2.5 &
$ /usr/local/OpenOffice.org1.1.0/program/swriter
The first 3 lines are for starting the Chinese input engine 'xcin'. If starting OOo Writer on KDE/GNOME desktop with GUI first and Chinese input engine later, Chinese input can't work on OOo document.
And after finishing Chinese editing if to make the Chinese input engine working on another program such as KEdit, KMail, etc. OOo Writer must be closed first and thereafter executing command to start KEdit on the same Console window.
It is not convenient. Is there an solution to start Chinese input engine at boot and allow other programs using it without the necessity starting all of them on the same Console/xterm window
Kindly advise. TIA
B.R.
