pkg_add says path to packages is missing or not available.
Installed FreeBSD in VirtualBox to give it a try-out while I learn it's ins and outs more than dual-booting.
Now I'm trying to start adding ports packages to the system and the pkg_add system states that when I request a package like xorg, that the location ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/po...ages-9-current is no available. I checked the FTP website and discovered the path is incorrect and is actually ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/po...kages-9-stable. Is there a way to reconfigure pkg_add to point to the correct tree branch directory?
The package tree directory is pointed in the environment variable PKG_PATH.
You need to setenv it to the correct location (in csh or tcsh). In bash you would export it. You can add it to the .profile file so that the variable is automatically set every time you log in.
