PCBSD/TrueOS Beginner's Commands

How do you get to the command line from PCBSD Lumina desktop?

What are 2 or 3 commands to type in?

Thanks!

I'm not a PCBSD user, but to help you out:

Lumina manual, referring to terminal context menu plugin: http://lumina-desktop.org/handbook/l...t-menu-plugins

PCBSD manual: https://web.pcbsd.org/doc-archive/10.2/html/pcbsd.html

Some FreeBSD commands: https://www.gsp.com/support/virtual/.../commands.html

Also not a TrueOS user.

CTRL+ALT+F[1 - 8] will switch to a virtual terminal in FreeBSD. CTRL+ALT+F9 is usually reserved for the X server, so that will allow you to switch back (of course, TrueOS could be configured with more or less and with a different tty reserved for the X server).

I have no experience of Lumina desktop, but you should find a terminal emulator in the menu or right click menu? Most *nix like operating systems with X.org server installed should have at least xterm or an rxvt like terminal emu installed.

Usual direction is the Lumina Menu.

Thanks!

Terminal is in 'right click' menu from desktop.

13 commands list was very good.

Hi... could you use the ThreadTools at top, to mark this as 'Solved' (so future searchers can easily see that a Solution is here)? Thanks!
p.s. same for some of your prior threads. ("My Threads" link on right edge, under "My LQ")

Okay. Marked it solved.

Sorry. The last two behind it do look like they were solved.

They have little value in looking at them but they are not solved.
