PCBSD Gnome ISO
Hi all. Is there a Gnome ISO for PCBSD? I tried the official 10.0 Joule release, but I wasn't able to get Orca (Gnome screenreader for visually impaired) running on it. On further research, I observed that the default was KDE Plasma. Is there Gnome on the ISO, or do I need to get one elsewhere?

Gnome 3 is very Linux centric and therefore not available out of the box for most of the BSDs. If you want Gnome 3 on PCBSD you wil have to install it manually, which is possible according to this thread: http://forums.pcbsd.org/showthread.php?t=14811

RE: GNOME3.
See pages 105 - 106 of the PCBSD 10 Users handbook. It can be installed during the initial installation from the list of 12 "unsupported" desktops. One of the 4 "supported" desktops is MATE, a fork of GNOME2. |

Is there a way to shell out and get to CLI install? If so, I might be able to SSH in to my laptop and install it that way.

I don't understand: do you build the MFS in a Linux environment, or is it done on the ISO?

You install base system, and then build whatever you want.
