[Solved] Open/Net/FreeBSD Comparsion
 

Hi all,

This may appear somewhere before, googled without any luck. Wanna give it a try because of Freesbie. :)

Here are some questions:
1) Any BIG difference among them?
2) Which one has the greatest ready-to-use software availability?
3) Which one do you use? (Just 2 most important reasons here plz)

If you are a beginer try FreeBSD .Instalation is very simple.
NetBSD or OpenBSD install program it is harder.
I use FreeBSD as a workstation and as a web server and it performs quite well.FreeBSD has a complete documentation
in /usr/share/doc with answers at almost problems.FreeBSD it performs very well at high loads ( traffic loads or Cpu loads).

FreeBSD is a good all around BSD. If you're looking to run a BSD desktop, FreeBSD has the most programs available. It also has an install that rivals a lot of Linux Distros in terms of speed and ease of use.

OpenBSD is the more secure of the BSDs, however it can be harder to install. OpenBSD uses encryption heavily and hasn't had a security hole in the default install in 7 years.

NetBSD is the most portable of the BSDs. If you are looking to run BSD on your Playstation or Atari then NetBSD is probably the BSD you want to go with.
