Mount-Root panic


Hello There! I have been headaching after put a FreeBsD HD as a slave an booting it. When the system recognize the Master with another file system type, it donīt work and ask me to <Mount-Root> <fstype>

what can I do to manage it and be able to read both HDD?

Greetings,

You might check the system bios setting to make sure it's calling out the drive you want.

Some operating systems are tricky to boot on the same IDE cable, but you could try making the slave drive the master, swapping those two.

Or a quick fix if you're still having problems would be to buy a cheap hard drive controller with IDE support which I think is pretty standard, and then just run one drive off the controller. You could also use the secondary IDE controller on your main board, but if you have an IDE optical drive on it, that's not recommenced. I've run a hard drive with the optical drive before, but you could run into more problems that way. Make sure you have a third cable if you get the controller adapter.
