Installing bootloader for OpenBSD

Hi,
accidentally I damaged a bootloader on my PC i386 machine. I tried to reinstall it
using installboot but it doesn't work. I followed an example provided in the man for installboot and tried to install MBR

Code:

$/usr/mdec/installboot -v /boot wd1

After rebooting I saw instead of a boot prompt a nice sequence of 9A. What am I doing wrong?

With respect, this is not a Linux question, we don't know OpenBSD.

Please check out a BSD forum, preferably for OpenBSD.

Try www.openbsd.org for their forum pages.

This is the *BSD section of LinuxQuestions.org. The question is appropriate in this section.

igadoter, did the installboot command give you any errors? What version of OpenBSD?

My apologies, I didn't realize there is a BSD section on here,
no offence meant, just thought a quicker answer would be from
a dedicated BSD forum.
