Installing a <Acer Labs M5451> Sound card

Hey i'm new to BSD. I'm tryingto install a <Acer Labs M5451> sound card. The card is recognized by the laptop. When i run cat /dev/sndstat this is displayed :
FreeBSD Audio Driver (newpcm)
Installed devices:
pcm0: <Acer Labs M5451> at io 0x1400 irq 9 kld snd_t4dwave (4p/1r/0v channels duplex default)

I've tried kldload snd_sound. Nothing seems to happen. I don't know what to try next. Any suggestions?

I've already looked through the man pages.. I've done "7.2.1 Configuring the System" Do i have to do "7.2.1.1 Configuring a Custom Kernel with Sound Support"? The spund still did not work after doing "7.2.1 Configuring the System". How do i know if i did this right?

You need to post here where you found the tutorial that helped you. Someone else, one of these days, will do a search for your sound card, and be frustrated by the fact that you found a solution, but you did not say where. Part of being a good citizen of linuxquestions is sharing where you found your infomation.

So, post!

Cheers--
Charles

Sorry, i didn't know if you would like me to post it since it written by another forum..

http://www.bsdforums.org/forums/show...ighlight=sound

It basically says what the man pages say, but it makes a lot more sense. To me anyway..
