when i installed freebsd7 and selected the ports that i need to install
during installation it asked to instert cd2 ,then asked about cd3 then cd2 then cd1 then................................
it is very bad to do something like that
i wish if there is a solution for that
or there is a dvd that makes installation more easier
Thats one thing I dislike about the FreeBSD installer. One option is to use the dvd which you can download via bittorrent from the likes of mininova or buy from FreeBSD Mall.
If your download speed is good enough to download a DVD, you might as well just use the bootonly image and download only what you need from FTP. (I'm just sayin'...)
really i tried the boot only cd and choose all things to install
my connection is 1M
it staid approximately 5hours and didn't finish installation yet
it took a lot of time
I say you should first of all read more about freebsd, about it's way of life, about the way to do things and very important you should learn to search first and ask questions later.
I just went through your recent posts and I strongly recommend that you stop jumping around so fast--stay with a distro for at least a few days before hopping to another.
I find it particularly disturbing that you leave threads hanging while you charge off and start a new one on a whole different topic. This will cause some people to stop responding to your posts.
