I have just downloaded FreeBSD v5.2.1 and am trying to install it on a Sun Sparc Ultra5 desktop. I have run into what I hope is a simple problem right off the bat.

I am able to boot the machine from the FreeBSD Disk #1. The first user prompt is to select the terminal type. The Standard ANSI terminal presents the best display of the initial installation menu, but I cannot figure out how to select the items from the menu. My arrow keys do not appear to work to select a menu item, and the tab key only switches between OK and Cancel.

Which terminal type should a select for a basic Sun Ultra 5 desktop with Sun Type 6 keyboard?

Any help would be appreciated....

Have you tried cons25 ? Usually when the symptoms you describe happen to me... that fixes it.
