having trouble configuring optical wheel PS/2 mouse in FreeBSD 6.0

Hello everyone,

before I ask my question id like to thank cnjohnson for helping with my previous question about installing FreeBSD on a SATA harddrive. I was able to get the OS to install. I only have one problem, I am having trouble getting the OS to recognize my optical wheel mouse. I tried setting the mouse type and port as Auto and just went along with setting all the configs as auto but still I could not get the mouse daemon to work. My mouse is a PS/2 mouse. Does anyone have any idea how i should go about doing this?

In the mouse section of your /etc/X11/xorg.config, make sure you have the following
Code:
Option "Protocol"    "Sysmouse"
Option "Device"      "/dev/sysmouse"
Option "ZAxisMapping"       "4 5"

You may also need to add these lines to /etc/rc.conf to virtualize the mouse and use it on the terminal. These were mandatory for me to enable scrolling on my PS/2 mouse.

Code:
moused_enable="YES"
moused_flags="-l 2"
