ftp server issues

ok currently I am using with freebsd server pure-ftp. I got it working but configuring it, is horrible. Now from this I am thinking of going a couple of ways.

1) Need help setting up that when a specific user logs in they go to a certain directory

2) Maybe there is another FTP server which is better to run

Thanks

vsftpd

I know nothing of the ftp server you mentioned in your post. vsftpd is easy to get, installs well, and works. It's considered quite secure.
