Hello Everyone,
I make a post here, since I encounter a problem currently I do not know why, but a number of times I tried to accommodate my normally impossible to do. and yet my password is correct. and finally I perceive, that the boot is different from what I had before. before I had to boot, the name of my host, and login: and now I have: Code:
FreeBSD/amd64 (Amnesiac) (ttyv0) I can not enter the login and password pass. as you can see from the screenshot below if an admin BSD venai has read my post, and have already met the problems of the boot I am taking direction and advice. in anticipation of your hand |
Not quite sure what you are actually asking, but if it is how do I login, then type your user name & press return/enter, then type in your password & press enter/return, after which you will be able to enter commands at the prompt.

thank you for your reply.
I had already understood the principle, and I was doing correctly what you have mentioned. against by my question is? why I have the following line in my boot. which is Code:
FreeBSD/amd64 (Amnesiac) (ttyv0) I do not have the usual information What is Code:
(Amnesiac) |
Amnesiac refers to the fact that you forgot to enter the hostname during setup of FreeBSD - your startup screenshot shows "hostname nor servername provided".
Once logged in, type sysinstall then select Configure > Networking > Interfaces. Select your chosen network interface and answer the questions such as do you want IPV6, DHCP etc - after that you get to the network card IP address, DNS and gateway settings, on that screen there will be a box labelled "Host" (or Hostname). Enter your chosen hostname (such as mybsdbox) and OK it, exit sysinstall and reboot. You should now be fine... Once rebooted your login screen will read, FreeBSD/amd64 (mybsdbox) (ttyv0) |

Nixblog Hello, and thank you for you post it.
So I applied your instructions. we must know the basic's my problem, my boot was no longer recognized the login and password of root and usrsyst 1) I applied your directive: single user 2) I could make the changes, and the parameters that you tell me, and which is principally used a new word to pass, also to root -> ok 3) I disassemble the front of boot files. 4) as you see on my screen, I have now the host, as you can see, but I still can not I log in as root with my password. you really have an idea that can block my logging root??. this is the first time I will problem. thank you, all other solutions. in the meantime. cordially I'm looking elsewhere. |
Not sure what this can be other than the fact your root password was mistyped during setup. It may be quicker to just reinstall it again but if you do, please read through this -
http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO...sdinstall.html This should get your FreeBSD install done correctly. You could also ask about your problem over at the FreeBSD Forums too - theres some good experts there :) |
It seems like to me that your password set is not the one you are using to login to the machine. There is an article on CyberCiti website which you can use to reset your root password on your freebsd box. http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/howto-...-password.html
Hope this helps |
