Hi all,
Well, the issue is weird, of that magnitude I was not able to give an impression in the subject.
I followed the
page on WIFI on the site of freeBSD itself.
Upon reboot...no WIFI, I issue an ifconfig and "hey" my WIFI tries to knock at the door of the hotspot of...the neighbor...hmm...
Even while the SSID and such are set to MY modem...
Wireless works from the modem out, I have a tablet PC in the kitchen that gives me internet via WIFI to the modem...
So, inquisitive as I am (hehe), I nose in the confs and find that there is to be a /var/run/wpa_supplicant, that, upon even closer inspection, is not even where it's supposed to be.
Obviously, I miss a step... and of course, I am a freeBSD newbee
I have the laptop set up to the point where I can fully function (desktop : Enlightenment, granted, said to be unstable but...sooo gorgeous) save for WIFI and (hehe) shutting down from my desktop...THAT priv I dont have...yet
Big post, lotsalotsa, please...meditate with me...thanks...
Thor
By the way, I got me a laptop to counter the pending
power outages belgium will have this winter...
NOT back to the dark ages, but
FORWARD...to the NEW ages...where less...is more, how funky is that, yea'...
Edit - I got me a Lenovo R400, wifi card is Intel...okay, not new but freeBSD's lightness grants me some 2 hours - on an old battery, love this!!!!!
Edit - solved, I installed something else...no time to crack this one...maybe later, not now... too bad...
