chsh accident; big accident.
While setting up freebsd post install I was customizing a few things. one of thse few things was the path to bash. Using chsh i accidentally changed the root shell path to something that doesn't exist due to a typo. I am now unable to su or login as root. It was a neat trick i do admit, but there has to be a way to edit the file w/o being su or root, right?

Did you try to boot in single mode?
At the bootprompt type: boot -s It trow's you in the sh shell as root, and then you can start editing ;) |
I made a similar error a while ago when I tried to change roots shell to zsh. I wish there was a way to point out this error before allowing you to save and exit as root.

Another vote for booting into single-user mode. It's saved my arse a couple of times...
