Checking md5sum problem.
Hi all folks,
I just have following iso images and md5sum file downloaded from FreeBSD website
5.2-RELEASE-i386-bootonly.iso
5.2-RELEASE-i386-disc1.iso
5.2-RELEASE-i386-disc2.iso
5.2-RELEASE-i386-miniinst.iso
CHECKSUM.MD5
$ md5sum -c CHECKSUM.MD5
md5sum: CHECKSUM.MD5: no properly formatted MD5 checksum lines found
# md5sum -c CHECKSUM.MD5
md5sum: CHECKSUM.MD5: no properly formatted MD5 checksum lines found
# cat CHECKSUM.MD5
MD5 (5.2-RELEASE-i386-bootonly.iso) = 3adbf5641c35ce2fb4f60295a9131794
MD5 (5.2-RELEASE-i386-disc1.iso) = cc2c9f647850df2bf96a478f0cbf18b6
MD5 (5.2-RELEASE-i386-disc2.iso) = ae5e15ee38e3f4f2a05c9355fa0a1aed
MD5 (5.2-RELEASE-i386-miniinst.iso) = 40c9a789d7d8e472914f9bc1e34ea04f
Is there a special md5sum tool for FreeBSD. Kindly advise how to proceed.
TIA
B.R.

Just cd to the directory with your isos and run the md5sum on each individual iso:
$ md5sum <file.iso>
Then manually compare it to what you have in CHECKSUM.MD5. The checksum file must be in a format not recognized by md5sum given your error messages.
