ATI / lm_sensors

Hi all.

I want to try PC-BSD (I tried FreeBSD before and liked it, I am lazy to compile X and the rest so I choose PC-BSD) because I want something new and because of a bug in GNU/Linux.

The bug is: http://pastebin.com/X2wDeCaN I read that it's something tied with drm in the kernel, edit something, recompile the kernel, I will try this sometime if I won't find a
solution in *BSD. I don't have money to buy new hardware.

This bug killed many hours of my life, I hope to escape from it with the help of PC-BSD

And something else, I set my video card to mid after boot, to save power and avoid high temperature since it's passively cooled (asus eah 3600 series) through "echo mid > /sys/class/drm/card0/device/power_profile" would I be able to do the same in PC-BSD since I read that radeon driver doesn't have default power management ?

I verify temperature through sensors command (lm_sensors), I read that lm_sensors is for GNU/Linux, does that works for *BSD too or is something smilar ?

I also posted this at the pcbsd forums, and I thought to post here too.

See the BSD pages

Check out this link:
http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en/articl...and-linux.html
BSD claims it will run Linux but I use only linux so no way to verify.

See also the lm-sensors website.
http://lm-sensors.org/wiki/WikiStart

Maybe the bsd site will have a better answer.
