I had a lot of trouble trying to get win32 codecs installed. In the end, this is how I did it on FC5 x86_64. It will obviously be different on different distros, but the theory should work.

first, do
Code:
yum install yumex
then do
Code:
yumex --forcei386
from here you can install 32bit applications - though you may need to yum remove some of the 64bit dependencies if they exist already. Using this I have succesfully installed xine, gxine (and plugin for mozilla), all the win32 codecs. It has also enabled me to install 32bit Firefox, therefore enabling me to install many more plugins than on the 64bit edition.

Hope this helps!

slight edit on this one. Im sure you would have worked this out by now if youve used this tutorial, but you need to install the 32bit Firefox to make the 32bit plugins work!
