Kernel (uname -r): 2.6.10-5-386
Distribution: Ubuntu (Hoary Hedgehog 5.04)

Running with an AMD Sempron 2400, 512MB, 8KRAI-X motherboard, I get about 900 fps in glxgears.

Tried on 3D games, like A Tale In The Desert, which worked well.
Tuxracer is smooth.

Kernel (uname -r): 2.6.8.11-6mdk
Distribution: Mandriva 10.2

Included lspci, xdpyinfo, modinfo
below.

Works well under Mandrake 10.1 (uses the ati3.11 fglrx driver included in the distro, giving 940 FPS with glxgears). Works well under suse 9.2 pro and mandrake 10.1 using the radeon driver. All if it was a radeon 9200.

*All the information below now are for Mandrake 10.2*
X.Org X11 6.8.2, patch level 7mdk
Works well, get 700+ FPS with the radeon open source driver when 24 planes are used. Some data below are for 16 planes which increase glxgears to 1400 FPS (AMD sempron 2400+). Note that dri and other modules are not always set by default by the distro so one may have to edit xorg.conf

This is the way drakconf see the card:

Kernel (uname -r): 2.6 AMD64
Distribution: Debian Sarge and Knoppix 3.7

This card isn't detected automatically by X.
I just used the default Vesa driver and it worked, but wouldn't when I tried the ATI driver ?
( Is picked up well in Knoppix though ).
Some games will work like Blob Wars, but things like Circus Linux and Solar Wolf make the screen go spastic, which annoyed me because all these games worked before on my el cheapo 32 meg
no name card. Something to do with screen resolution ?
Also Tux Racer and Foo Billiards were still slow even though I upgraded to the 128 meg Radeon, it's a friggin joke mate...

Kernel (uname -r): 2.6.11-6mdk
Distribution: Mandriva LE2005

Installed Mandriva LE 2005. Make sure that kernel-source package is installed and is the one corresponding to your running kernel.

My card is the Radeon 9250 PCI (not AGP) and it works also.

Got Ati's "fglrx driver" for xorg from: https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894

Got the rpm and installed it. Ran the 'fglrxconfig" utility. Mostly stuck to defaults. Disabled the internal AGPART module. Restarted X and that's it!
Glxgears gives ~1000 fps.

Kernel (uname -r): 2.6.16-yac-k7
Distribution: Debian Etch

Cheap. Working. What more do you want ? Doesn't run on OS radeon driver for me, only with vesa driver(without GL/xv of course). ATI Proprietary fglrx driver works great with xv extension even without fglrx kernel module, although compiling it i.e. with module-assistent is incredibly easy(at least on Debian). glxgears (which is of course not a benchmark) on Athlon XP 2400+ gives about 1700 FPS, GL and DRI works well, I haven't encountered any linux 3D app that wouldn't run well on it. For example Savage is fully playable with medium details...
