Description: Well this card has 4 sata ports on it. It can do Raid 0, 1, 0+1 and jbod
It can handle 33mhz or 66mhz pci speeds depending on yur slot.
The one down side of this card is that it is software raid chip not hardware.

Dell Precision BIOSes can't see or add drives attached to the card to the boot order. The card can't otherwise get itself to boot. You need a rescue cd to boot from the first drive. (that's a syslinux feature) The kubuntu installer has this option on the menu.

If you are running your os on another disk, I guess it might be okay, but the linux software raid is pretty good on its own.
