Description:

Maxtor's IDE Controller PCI card
2 IDE Ports - Up to 4 IDE drives
UDMA 6/ATA133
PCI
Chipset 20269 (rev 02)
Set up was painless, as well as installing O/Ses (Mandrake 9.1, 9.2, 10.0) with multiple varientsof the 2.4.x and 2.6.x kernel. Hardrake instantly recognized the card and set up the drives to their respective IDE channels.
I have four Maxtor HDD of various sizes (160GB, 2x 40GB and 20GB; all UDMA6) and haven't had any issues with data transfer/file corruption.
Burst-rate is somewhat inconsistent, varying from the low KBs to 84MB (highest I've witnessed so far), but averages out at 40MB. Considering I was only getting on the average of 20MB before adding the card, I'd say it is quite an improvement.
Although Maxtor recommends using IDE cables equal or shorter than 18", I have two round 24" conneting my HDDs to the controller card and no problems what-so-ever.
