Interestingly enough, this worked perfectly in RH 9 under the 2.4.20-9 or some such kernel. Now under Debian with any kernel version (well, 2.4.x included) I can write and rewrite CD-R(W), but there's something keeping the rewriting of DVD+RW (haven't tried -RW) from happening. Still searching though.
(Edit: I got this at OfficeMax for $130 with a $50 instant and $50 mail-in rebate)
(Edit2: Note to self: make sure that the disc you're calling DVD+RW is, in fact, a DVD+RW, before opening your big mouth. Burning ACTUAL DVD+RW's is a tad glitchy for me, but doing a couple "dvd+rw-format -force -lead-out /dev/dvd" before rewriting to a +RW seems to minimize the occurrence of interrupted burns)
