Description: This is an Orinoco network card as opposed to the newer Proxim card. This card says Orinoco on the body of the card *and* on the black part that sticks out when you plug it in. This card supports 802.11-b (and possibly 802.11-a, don't know). It has a part number of 012938/G.

This card has really been great with Linux. It has worked with every Laptop I have tried it in. I have used it personally with Mandrake from version 8.x to 10.0.

Works great in my Dell laptop and my IBM laptop. Just put it in and turned on the machine - no manual configuration necessary to get the drivers working.

Mine is labelled "Avaya Gold world card" but it's an orinoco card. I've used it a lot in my old laptop and just starting with my ipaq. The connector for external antenna is handy.

Works great with the orinoco drivers. Also works with wvlan_cs on the ipaq. Supported by kismet too. All good news here!

Worked like a charm. My card was listed as a "Proxim Orinoco Gold Classic". It works like a charm. Spent less than two hours.
