Description: This is a laptop based on the SiS 630 Chipset. I've seen alot of other laptops based on the exact same chipset, and I guess they'll work as well.

The Targa versions are all equipped with desktop CPUs, so battery time is rather limited.

Should you install a rather old Linux distribution, you may encounter problems getting any output at all using XFree86. The problem was solved about 2 years ago by Thomas Winischhofer (http://www.winischhofer.net/linuxsisvga.shtml). Recent versions of XFree86 uses his updated driver. Even hardware accelerated 3D works (however, the graphics hardware is way to slooow to actually be of any use).

If you want to use the onboard modem, the driver is located here ftp://ftp.smlink.com/Update/linux/. I've never tested this driver personally, as I've never had any use for it. There are however reports that the modem works without any problems using that driver.

The remaining hardware (not mentioned above) are all supported in Linux.

For the network adaptor, use the sis900 module, for audio use the snd-trident (alsa) or trident (OSS) module.
