Slackware 9.1 installed very easily on this notebook. Everything works good including both pointing devices, sound, PCMCIA, APM.

Somethings that aren't working for me:
Some of the "function" keys on the keyobard don't seem to work; mainly the display contrast control. Volume and brightness controls do work though.
The external floppy drive is hot-swappable as advertised. However, the external CD or DVD drive is not (requires a re-boot) They would show up as /dev/hdc
Speedstepping on the CPU seems to work in only one direction. If I unplug the power adaptor, the speed will drop to around 250MHz, but if I re-connect the power adaptor, it doesn't jump back up to the full 650MHz (requires a re-boot).

Overall, this is a great small notebook. Since I don't regularly need the floppy or DVD drives, it is very portable and light.

I'd give this machine a very good mark, as being a relative Linux newbie, I didn't have much problem getting it up and running, and all the stock drivers seem to work.

This machine seems to have overheating issues (and I've played with two separate machines in case I had a dud!) I did have to recompile the kernel to include ACPI support, and write a little script to keep the fan on pretty much all the time - and since then it's stayed up for days.

Also, contrary to the summary above, it has a maximum screen resolution of 1024x768 - the older P2-based 900a has a smaller screen and indeed can only do 800x600
