Kernel (uname -r): 2.6.8.1-12mdk
Distribution: Mandrake 10.1o

Mandrake 10.1o worked best for me with this laptop. With Manrake was able to hibernate but not suspend. Also tried Ubuntu, Fedora and Knoppix. All had the following issues:
  • No working power management (with the above expection)
  • The lcd > external > lcd&external function key never worked in X, although I could use both if I started the computer with an external plugged in.

Only problems with this are the winmodem and setting the screen details but fixed them buy using an Serial modem and setting the screen manually.

Mobile PII 400MHz
256M RAM

Purchased refurbished in a truckstop.

While hardly a top of the line computer, it is perfectly compatible with Linux. I've had no problems installing and running Linux on this machine.

Kernel (uname -r): Not Sure
Distribution: (K)(X)Ubuntu 6,10

I have used the LiveCD with this computer, and as far as I can tell, everything works perfectly with all three variants of Ubuntu. As soon as I get they keyboard and screen fixed and upgrade the HD to a larger one, I'll be installing it and testing out other distros.
