Standard P4 chip from Intel. 2.4GHz, 533MHz FSB, 512K L2 cache. Super stable chip, runs cool, no hiccups, tackles even the most CPU-intensive apps like a champ. Editorial comment: Note that this is the 2.4B model, using the Northwood core. There is also a 2.4A model, which has a 1Mg L2 cache (which sounds better) but which uses a Prescott core. I'm far from the expert in these things, but short story: Go with this 2.4B for significantly better performance. Current (March 2004) price is appox $150
Match this chip with a compatible Intel mobo and you'll have a rockin' platform for a killer system.
Bottom line: this is the fastest and best chip I've ever used in a home PC.
