Description: Very reliable (and old, by now) black and white laser printer. Toner seems to last for eternity. Bit slow in comparison to modern lasers, however.

No problems with installing under RH9 & CUPS over the parallel interface. Shared perfectly over samba.

I've owned this printer since my 486 33 with 4megs ram was brand new on the market. I've had it all through High-School and through College, it's never let me down, never jammed, and I believe I've replaced the toner once. It's been through hell and back, and through many moves with me. Been through countless distributions of Linux and *cough* some windows. This printer is an absolute workhorse and I will never get rid of it.

Kernel (uname -r): 2.4.21-15.EL
Distribution: RedHat

It only works with Mandrake 10.1 and 9.2 and WhiteBox Linux (ReddHat Enterprise 3 ES clone without RH logos) .

I also tried Fedora Core 3, Fedora Core 1, and of course, RedHat 9.

it used to work with RH 9 one year ago, however, it stopped working suddenly (I think it was after an up2date from RHN, but that is just a guess)

here is the error that I receive at /var/log/messages

modprobe: can't locate module char-major-188
last message repeated 15 times

The printer works on with WhiteBox, however this was tested under Windows (VMware-Workstation), so this might actually be a fake expectative, it might not work in a plain WhiteBox installation (running from physical disk instead of running from Window, VMware)
