I have this working via USB using the CDCEther Module. This worked (almost) out of the box with RH9. I had one problem; there was a conflict between this an an existing PCI LAN card. Problem solved by defining the I/O address for the card.
Works fine, no speed issues encountered, very stable (despite what others may say about USB)
