Description: USB 2.0 to Ethernet 10/100BT "Bump in the wire" converter.

This is a 1.5"x2" blue block with a USB socket on one side and an RJ45 Ethernet connector on the other. Given that you are connecting to a USB 2.0 socket you should be able to go at full 100BaseT rate.

I've come to find that with Linux I've had great success with netgear products. This is a great nic. I plugged it into my laptop running debian Sarge and it recognized it immediately. I gave it a static ip and a gateway and I was on the internet with it in about 1 mintue or less. Nothing extra to install or configure, just brought up eth2 with an ip and it worked. I'm posting with the connection and it's going to be put on a server running full time to really test it out.
