Description: A winmodem, don't think it works in Linux (11/7/03).

The description isn't very descriptive... sorry about that. It has two jacks, one for a phone & one for phone line. Supposed to do fax, has V.92 capability. Went around in circles trying to get it to work, until I found www.linmodems.org ... their ScanModem tool said it wasn't supported. Worked pretty well in Windows.

I wish I saw this review earlier...... That is the exact modem I have, and have been busting my arse trying to get it to work, unhtill I went to that same sight and found out it wasn't compatible.... :( Now I have to go out and buy a new modem with non-existant money. :-P

To the gentlemen above who needs a new modem, i have the same modem, and i have had nothing but issues from it with windows, and expected the same with linux. If you go to www.compgeeks.com you can pick up a cendyne serial modem for 16.50 i got it shipped for 22.50, i should have it in a few days, but its a cheap solution.
