Soundcard installed with no problems when installing SuSE 9.0 using the YaST2 setup utility to configure the system.
The Plug and Play isa card was autodetected and the driver/kernal module snd-sbawe loaded and appears to operate the card without any problems whatsoever. I have not tested the operation of soundfonts under linux.

I actually have the AWE32, but I feel I should make an important point:
The AWE64 is exactly the same hardware as the AWE32. The second set of voices (33-64) were made to work via a software driver. Therefore, an AWE64 in Linux will work as if it were an AWE32. Kind of like Winmodems for sound :(

I love it. Niver given me a single problem. Without a doubt the best all arround ISA soundcard ever. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Card works perfectly with alsa 1.0.9. In order to play midi files, I copied the SYNTHGM.SBK file from the driver cd and ran
asfxload SYNTHGM.SBK
and turned up the synth levels in alsamixer. Also, I had to temporarily disable acpi in order for alsaconf to detect the card.
