It works greatly with the 2.6.x kernel series. You'll have problems with the agpgart (chipset AGP support) module when using the 2.4.x series.

Everything works except some ACPI things, like thermal zone doesn't report correctly.

Sound has been an adventure. XMMS will play using ALSA, but aplay doesn't work correctly. It will repeat the first .25s of a wav file.

This is using the snd_via82xx driver from the kernel tree. Is this the right driver for this board???

Kernel (uname -r):

I have the Soyo-KT600 Dragon Plus V2.0 motherboard and I would not recommend it it to anyone trying to run Mandrake. It accpeted Thiz-Linux 7.0 but would not accept Mandrake 10.0 or Mandrake 10.1.

I am using the AMD Athlon processor with KT 600/8237 Chipset.

I believe my main problems center around my video card. I noticed the AGP slot had a piece of warning tape of 1.5volts only and I had no idea what this meant. I am using a GE-Force-2 Nvidia FX 440 64 MB video card.

Mandrake installs but will not get me to the NVIDIA splash screen on boot-up with 10.1. With mandrake 10.0 it installs but hangs on boot-up.

I was using a Albatron motherboard previously and I switched to Soyo with same exact chipset. I transferred all my hardware over to my Soyo board. Mandrake ran on my Albatron board just fine, but not on my Soyo board. I believe its because of the video/graphics card.

I called Soyo and they had no clue as to what Linux was or how it worked. All they knew was Windows. Terrible tech-support when they promised me a call back and they never bothered to even call me back with a solution.

I would avoid this board if you are running Mandrake.

Works extremely well with Redhat RHEL 3 Enterprise perfectly no problems.

Fedora Core 3 installs fine, except the sound module may need some tweaking to get the maximum sound output. Other than that, it is a really nice board.

Kernel (uname -r): 2.6.3

Everything worked except the USB. The bus was detected but did not detect usb mouse or any other usb devices plugged in after installation. Might just be a configuartion problem with Mandrake.

Video card: Nvidia (Chaintech) GForce FX-5200 AGP8 which works fine with no problems.

Audio: No problems. Using ALSA driver in xmms.

side note: anyone know where to plug the CD audio cable into the board?

These kernels won't recognize onboard LAN VIA VT6102 Rhine II (rev78) unless SATA is disabled in the BIOS
