Handspring Visor Edge, the 8MB slimline metal-cased offering.
If you have one of these, you know what it is or you've picked one up second-hand - Handspring doesn't make them anymore. Compatible (out of box, no tweaking) with Mandrake 8.2+ / RedHat 7+ / Slack 8+ and FreeBSD 5.1 when given a swift kick.
One caveat is that if you synchronize between two desktops (i.e Windows and a Nix box) it setting up the "who can write over what permissions" can be a pain, especially if the only syncing the two desktops get is through the Visor.
