I?m talking about Xircom CreditCard Ethernet 10/100+Modem 56 Adapter (CEM56)
This card is awesome, it works with every single OS I?d tried on many laptops. I mean, from BeOS to many Linux distributions (including but not limited to): Red Hat, SUSE, Knoppix, Corel Linux. I almost forget it also works with Solaris.
As I said before it works like a charm. I mean, they?re expensive, but worth every dollar. I believe they are now sold under Intel brand.

Xircom RealPort Ethernet 10/100+Modem 56 (REM56-100)
I want to add that this model also works flawlessly with Linux. I believe it has the same chipset as the CEM56 model. The only difference is that this one has built-in connectors.

Like everyone else here has stated this card works flawlessly with Linux, which is nice! Mandy picked this up without any problems (as long as you have the PCMCIA service running).
The only problems that I have had with the card is that the one I have is Type III (taking up 2 slots) and the heat that this card generates is amazing and alot. Nothing which decreases the performance of the card, just a few things to consider.

Can't guarentee that it's great, just tried it out, but it worked without anywork. Finally found windows drivers for it, googled for linuz info (wanted linux on my laptop anyways).
Stuck in dyne:bolic linux live boot disk, and it instantly had the ethernet working, can't try the modem yet. The computer is an old Transport XPE pentium 1 166mhz (I think), with dyne:bolic, (and most distro's) X doesn't work right away, but this card worked right away.

This card worked after installation without any extra work or configuration. I've used both NIC and modem functionalities without any issues.
I don't mind that this card takes up both slots because my laptop doesn't have dust doors or blanks.

This card is not supported by Debian installer (at least the one for net install 3.0)
Once it is running it runs great. Just need the module and cardmgr.
