I love this camera. It is not a top-of-the-line model; at $500 or so, it was more the economy model of its day. But mine after many years now, is still working fine. And shortly after I installed Ubuntu Linux, I tried the camera, and it worked without a hitch. I simply plugged in the USB cable, and I'm fairly certain that my device was recognized. (I don't even think I had to download a driver from the Fui website.) If I had to do it all over, I'd buy this camera again.
One thing I should mention is that I never tried to install Fuji's pic-viewing software. I'm happy with just using Linux stuff to work with the pictures. So I don't know if the Fuji software works or not. (I think it was called FinePix Viewer maybe, something like that.) I hope someone else can comment on whether that software, which came with the camera originally, works with Linux.
