Description:

The standard wired optical mouse, 2 buttons and a scroll wheel. It's Microsoft, but works wonderfully under linux with the ps/2 or usb. Even the scroll wheel worked perfectly the first time.

If Microsoft software worked as well as this mouse, the computer biz would be a lot different. More seriously, the 3 components that basically define 95% of your computing experience are the monitor, the mouse, and the keyboard, and therefore any kinds of problems or issues with any of these devices will have a disproportionate effect on your use of the system. (Think dead pixels or flaky Shift keys)
This is a great mouse, and in my opinion is far better than the older style mouse with a roller ball. Optical is definitely the way to go, and although the effect gets old after about 20 minutes, I'll have to admit that the bright red light that is activated when you move the mouse is actually pretty cool, particularly if you keep your ambient lighting on the low side. I scored a killer deal on this, paying only about $15 total including tax during a special sale from one of the major chains.
Personally, I don't see that a wireless mouse is really all that necessary, and if you're looking to pick up a great mouse at a modest cost, consider this one. -- J.W.

Using it under USB no troubles except for Debian 3.0 and XFree86.
Have tried it under several distros and anyways hapiness.
BTW the scroll wheel is also the 3rd button - just click it down. Therefore this mouse is a three button mouse as well as having a scroll wheel.
BTW scroll wheel works flawlessly for me under RH9 and XFree86

Works excellently.
don't forget to set your mouse type to ImPS/2, and your device to the usb port it's plugged into(or /dev/mice as I have done, if you have that device created)
you will also want to use the following option:
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
in the InputDevice section of your xf86config file(or xorg.conf) to enable the scroll wheel

No problems. Plugged it in, booted up, and started working. Didn't even have to think about it. I wish everything in life were that simple.
