Works just fine. I don't normally run it OCed, but haven't had any problems with it when I did.

A great chip. Can easily be OC'd, although I run it at its factory specs. This is a great chip for the price, and is a seriously good value for your dollars. If you're in the market for a new box or new mobo, I'd highly recommend considering this chip as the CPU, even if you've always used Intel thus far. I doubt you'd be disappointed, and the price is insanely great. -- J.W.

Great Processor to OverClock. Mine has been OC'd and running stable for months. Good bang for the buck.

Kernel (uname -r): 2.6
Distribution: Mandrake 10.0

No problems whatsoever, Mandrake even had a custom built AMD kernel, which was nice. As has been said above, processor can easily be overclocked to get an average boost of 200MHz, or more, by simply altering BIOS settings. I have overclocked mine using an ASUS A7V8X-X and it has bee running for over a year this way.

*note - do not overclock unless you understand the risks involved!!!

Kernel (uname -r): gentoo-dev-sources-2.6.9r6
Distribution: gentoo

Can't remember what I paid. Probably Forty-something British pounds.

This is a real bargain. Just set the FSB speed to 200MHz, up the Core Voltage to 1.7, and join to the heatsink using some good silver goop instead of the cheap stuff, and it thinks it's an XP3200+. No special cooling even required.

Linux? Loves it!
