Brother monochrome laser printer HL2270DW
2.6.38.8-pclos1.bfs
PCLinuxOS 2012.02
USB or wireless
print quality very good
speed = about one page every 2 seconds
paper tray is letter size only.
paper may come out slightly heat distorted.
noise level is acceptable.
printer is small and light weight.
Cost around $100 in 2012.
will not print small pages without tweeking and will spit out reams of some kind of code.
Fix/tweak:
Here's the fix:
At about line 38, Add to the following lines to /usr/local/Brother/Printer/HL2270DW/lpd/filterHL2270DW:
# This is a Hack until the "file" command gets fixed
if [ `head -1 $INPUT_TEMP1 | grep "%!PS"` ] ; then
FILE_TYPE="PostScript"
fi
I put it right after the line that says:
Code:
FILE_TYPE=`file $INPUT_TEMP1 | sed -e 's/^.*:[ ]*//' -e 's/[ ].*//'`
