If you are looking for a VoIP quality Headset at an affordable price, then don't hesitate to buy this product if you use Linux, some may overlook this item as it is only listed to work with PlayStation 3, yet it works perfectly fine on Linux with the exception of the hand switch volume buttons. I highly recommend this product to all users of VoIP on Linux. This headset isn't designed for music listening, it is only a single channel headset. Audio in calls is very pristine and clear and the Mic is also very clear with great background noise cancellation.

I have integrated a fix for the multimedia keys on the headset. After discovering that this device sends key commands just like a normal keyboard/mouse, I was able to use a script to take advantage of the Volume Up/Down and Mute buttons. This makes the device fully functional :) Here is the script I used, place it somewhere in your home directory and make it executable (chmod +x /path/to/file).
MOD EDIT: At the present time (2011-08-29) the HCL can not display a quote mark without changing it. For the time being the bash script is located

I use XFCE so your desktop environment may take a different approach at setting up multimedia key links. In XFCE I do the following:
- In your XFCE menu go to Settings, Keyboard
- Click the tab labeled Application Shortcuts
- create a new entry pointing to the script that you saved and append plus to the script. for example you name the script usbctl and saved it in ~/Documents. You would make the command

- Now it will ask you to press the key for the shortcut, press the volume up key on the headset.
- Create two more entries following the above steps except use minus and mute where you used plus, and hit the appropriate key on the headset
Hopefully everyone can get this device to be fully functional with other Desktop environments without a hassle, KDE and Gnome both integrate similar methods for setting Multimedia Keys, just follow the above in a similar fashion.
