Would you recommend the product? no | Price you paid? (in USD): $60.00 | Rating: 3

Kernel (uname -r): 2.6.35-28-generic
Distribution: Ubuntu 10.10

I've bought this card because I would use my LCD TV 32" as main monitor, and my LCD 19" Screen as secondary. As my TV doesn't have a VGA connection but 2 HDMI, and my PC having just a VGA out for the on-board Intel chipset, I've found that the cheapest and simpler way to, was install a video card that would have the two connections out I needed: 1 HDMI and 1 VGA.

After a while I got this working quite fine even if, for the reasons below, I'd not able to have the best frequency refresh for the TV (it could manage 70hz, but 60hz only are provided by the card this way configured).
The resolutions used are:
1920x1080 on the TV (16/9 ratio)
1280x1024 on LCD screen (5/4 ratio)

If I rated this prod. as not so good is because:

1. Drivers for Linux are not provided on the CD by manifacturer

2. Had a lot of trouble configuring with drivers provided in Ubuntu repositories; chiefly the FGLRX which I finally de-activeted as with ATI tools, trying to configure different setup for the monitors, messed up the whole system config and needed to reboot in "recovery mode", uninstall the whole stuff and re-install:
fglrx (2:8.780-0ubuntu2) (deactived this time)
linux-firmware (1.38)
linux-firmware-nonfree (1.9)
xserver-xorg-video-ati (1:6.13.1-1ubuntu5)
xserver-xorg-video-r128 (6.8.1-3build1)
xserver-xorg-video-radeon (1:6.13.1-1ubuntu5)

3. after few days I was using my 2 monitors, the TV (one in HDMI) begin to flicker, then go to black for a while, slightly after some hours, then more and more frequently and longer time.
