Description: The main list of features: 12.2 Megapixels, 27mm wide angle lens, 5x Optical Zoom, 3.0" Intelligent TFT LCD, Smart Auto, Perfect Portrait System, Frame Guide, Smart Album.

Connects without problem via USB. On my Ubuntu 10.04 system it prompted to transfer the photos via F-Spot Photo Manager import or just connect as a removable USB device. Either way works fine.

This is a great little compact digital camera. I can highly recommend it. Takes great photos, even close ups of insects, flowers, computer parts, etc. For the price it's very good value. It takes excellent videos, including sound (though not in a wide-screen format).

lspci output shows no information related to the camera, but as it connects via USB that's no surprise. lsusb output related to the camera shows:

Bus 002 Device 004: ID 04e8:1357 Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd

Photo transfer via USB is a piece of cake ... F-Spot Photo Manager (installed by default in Ubuntu 10.04) offered to import the photos or you can just mount it as a removable USB storage device and copy the photos that way. F-Spot ignored the video files so I had to copy them manually that way.
