This laptop worked out of the box except for the usual case of needing to install firmware for the wireless devices and one other issue. In order for sound to work properly, the patch found at http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=commitdiff;h=75eb1c311da47d32ba47825226e110df703b35d0 needed to be applied (applied via 'alsa-source' in Debian).
