Kernel (uname -r):
2.6.38-2.slh.2-aptosid-amd64
Distribution:
Aptosid
A good, solid board, with 1 x 16x PCIe, 4 x 1xPCIe and 2 x PCI slots, 6 x SATA ports, 1 x IDE port, 12 x USB 1.1/2.0 ports, 2 x USB 3.0 ports and decent onboard audio.
1 x floppy port and firewire as well, both never used or tested by me.
Currently running kernel 2.6.38, but I've run this board with earlier kernels with no problems (down to 2.6.32).
I'm giving 8/10 due to-
Gigabyte only giving BIOS updates in .exe format
The rtl8169 firmware issue. The network works no problems without the firmware however.
Insane placement of the front-panel audio connectors.
